Assistant Director, Internships

Job Description
Overview:  The Assistant Director of Internships is part of the Career Development team within CORE.  CORE, which stands for Career, Opportunities, Research, and Experience, is the place for all students to engage in career education, first year advising, vocational exploration, internships, community service, study away, research, student employment, entrepreneurism, and professional development. 
The Assistant Director of Internships will cultivate new and existing partnerships with employers to increase internship opportunities, assist employers with internship program development, and educate employers on best practices for hiring international students into internships and career-related full-time jobs.  They will also serve as the primary contact for international students seeking Curricular Practical Training and Optional Practical Training. 
Education:  Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Student Affairs in Higher Education, Business, Communications, or a related field.

Skills & Experience: 
·         2-3 years of demonstrated experience working with internships, college recruiting, employer development, international students, career counseling/coaching or experience in a closely related role is highly preferred
·         Possess demonstrated skills as a dynamic, professional with exceptional organizational, time management and communication skills
·         Ability to take initiative, develop systems and processes to meet goals
·         Ability to develop positive rapport with a wide and varied constituencies including students, business leaders, faculty, alumni and members of the campus community
·         Ability to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail
·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision but as part of a broader team of career education and professional development professionals
Expected hours of work: This is a full-time, 12-month position with a 40-hour work week. Standard days and hours of work are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 pm during the academic year, as well as the summer months. Occasional long days will be required during events of other occasions.
