International Student Outreach Specialist

Job Description
St. Ambrose University seeks an International Student Outreach Specialist to serve in a dual academic success (50%) and recruiting (50%) capacity for international students. 
The specialist’s academic success duties will include assisting international students in developing plans of study; serving as an academic resource for international students adjusting to US classroom culture; and developing strategies to promote international students’ cultural adjustment and engagement on campus and in the community.  The specialist’s recruiting responsibilities will include answering initial inquiries from prospective international students; coordinating print and online recruiting campaigns through third-party marketing providers, the university website, and social media; coordinating with the St. Ambrose INTERLINK Language Center; interfacing with contracted recruiting agencies; and organizing outreach to international alumni in key recruiting markets.
The International Student Outreach Specialist must be an energetic, compassionate communicator.  Extensive international travel experience, a Bachelor’s degree and a valid US passport are required.  University advising, admissions, marketing, or sales experience, proficiency in Arabic or Spanish, and familiarity with Catholic higher education are preferred.  Up to 5% domestic/international travel is possible.  The specialist will serve as a DSO and ARO on SEVIS.  This position reports to the Director of International Education.  The position is open until filled.  St. Ambrose University is an independent, comprehensive, and Catholic diocesan university firmly grounded in the liberal arts.  The university, located in the Quad Cities metropolitan area in Davenport, Iowa, enrolls approximately 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students.  The University’s Core Values include catholicity, integrity, the liberal arts, life-long learning, and diversity.  People from under-represented populations are encouraged to apply.  Please apply online at www.sau.edu/employment and submit a letter of interest, resume, and contact information for three professional references.
