The Resident is responsible for the delivery of chiropractic and rehabilitative care as well as the supervision of care rendered by students.
- Responsible to the assigned administrator and has a support responsibility to all other departments and college personnel as necessary.
- Responsible for the supervision of students as required.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for conducting primary and secondary exams on patients.
- Responsible for the delivery of chiropractic care; including management of individual patients.
- Make recommendations for care to fellow clinicians when appropriate.
- Maintain and monitor patient records’.
- Supervise and educate students and externs.
- Attend departmental, main clinic and residency meetings.
- Support the missions of the department, the clinic and the College.
- Acquire knowledge from outside sources through residency sessions, seminars, outside readings and certifications. Share that knowledge with students, faculty and staff.
- Develop interests in specific areas; develop specialties with the future ability to educate in some capacity.
- Act as a role model for students, faculty and staff.
- Responsible for extern program: hiring and dismissal, education, records and scheduling

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Doctor of Chiropractic Degree required. Completion of National Boards Parts I, II, III with eligibility to sit Part IV. Completion of post graduate education, and in house coursework, making the resident eligible to sit for Diplomat and ACRB level exams. Must have completed at least one published journal article/research project within a refereed journal prior to graduation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Performs sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted, and temperature controlled office setting.
- Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday.
