Job Summary: The Executive Director is responsible for oversight of The Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce by providing strategic leadership to ensure the organization fulfills its mission effectively. As a direct report to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will collaborate with the Board by planning and implementing long term initiatives that meet the needs of The Quad Cities Community and surrounding areas.
Strategic Leadership and Program Oversight:
- Develop, implement, and revise Strategic Plans.
- Align programs and initiative with organization goals and community needs.
- Oversee and manage daily operations.
- Monitor business policies and accounting practices.
- Provide financial oversight and provide reports as needed.
- Interact and maintain a strong public relationship with partners and community leaders.
- Recruit, manage, train, and mentor staff and volunteers.
- Develop recruitment and retention strategies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Provide support and guidance to the Board of Directors.
- Act as a liaison to relevant Board committees to ensure success of programs and events.
- Deliver coaching and counseling as needed.
- Direct fundraising efforts with support from the Board, including grant writing.
- Responsible for budgeting, financial planning, and reporting.
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements as it relates to fiscal management.
- Representing the organization in the community along with stakeholders.
- Build partnerships and advocating for the organization’s mission and values.
- Public Speaking at Community Events including Colleges, Community Board meetings, QCHCC led events.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.
Experience: 5+ years management experience, non-profit experience is a plus.
Travel: Local travel in the Quad Cities is required with minimal travel to surrounding areas.
Hours: Generally Monday thru Friday normal business hours with possible nights and weekends for events as needed.
Physical: This role may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or lifting up to 25 pounds.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher).
Knowledge of community involvement and general understanding of operations of Chamber organization.
Ability to maintain a variety of complex records.
Prepare reports as needed.
Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Fluency in Spanish (Oral and Written) preferred.
