Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a coordinator to work with our membership and community through programming and services. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and English with a variety of people, including: members, volunteers, interns, staff, and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce board of directors. The coordinator’s general responsibilities include: managing member relationships, coordinating event logistics, assisting with general outreach to promote the growth and development of the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Responsibilities and Duties
Member Management:
  • Recruits members and maintains relations for the Hispanic Chamber.
  • Organizes networking opportunities for members.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with members
  • Works with board/committees to plan for growth and development.
  • Maintains newsletter and social media for the Hispanic Chamber.
 Program & Event Management:
  • Assists with the development and coordination of special events – including educational programming, networking events and annual gala business awards.
  • Coordinates set-up and take down of events, including information and registration table, and organizing volunteers.
  • Coordinates with partnering organizations and stakeholder groups to carry out presentations on the goals, achievements and services of the Hispanic Chamber.
  • Produces press releases to promote upcoming programs
  • Supports the development and distributes flyers, calendars, posters and other promotional materials.
 Operations Management:
  • Collects and tracks membership dues, sponsorships and event registrations.
  • Supports accountant and reporting financial results to Board.
  • Monitors and maintains an ongoing budget for programs and events.
  • Keeps records of all receipts and deposits.
  • Office management support, i.e. answer phone and email inquiries, maintain office supplies
  • Other duties as assigned
College degree
Fluency in Spanish
Excellent communication and people skills
Organizational skills i.e. events planning, tracking and reporting, coordinating volunteers
Writing and marketing skills
Financial knowledge i.e. budgeting
Passionate about community and small businesses
Compensation and Benefits
The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce offers competitive wages. This position can be full-time.
