Job Description
The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is the only organization in the Quad Cities created to address the specific needs of the Hispanic Business community.  The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce serves the Quad Cities and surrounding areas in Illinois and Iowa, including Iowa City, Muscatine, and West Liberty.  The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce web site www.gqchcc.com posts the latest events, opportunities, organizations, and tools for developing emerging small business leaders in the greater Quad Cites area. 
 
The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to support, promote and enhance the growth and success of our local businesses and organizations and to leverage the community's assets, contributions and unique Hispanic Cultural identity to generate new business opportunities.  The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce welcomes businesses, organizations, and individuals from any cultural background to join, so that we can support, assist and recognize your efforts in our community.  We are developing and networking leaders who are committed to ethical, responsible, and accountable actions on behalf of the U.S. Latino population and the broader community.

Reliable transportation needed to site location and to different event locations throughout the Quad Cities.
 
The objective of our internship program is to provide individuals with an opportunity to focus on their professional development through mentorship and hands-on learning environment.  We are confident that their interests, professional goals and enthusiasm will be great assets in furthering the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce mission. Internship duration is between five to ten weeks and dependent on project needs.  Hours range from two to four hours a day, two to four days a week during hours of operation.  Some events require attendance after hours of operation or on Saturday. 
 
 
All interns will be involved to some degree in:
 
  • Administrative duties
  • Engaging the public
  • Set-up and tear-down of events
  • Maintenance of database, contacts and membership
  • Participation in staff planning and meetings
  • Participation in event planning (marketing and logistics)
 
  • Performing other duties as requested
