Augustana College, in partnership with Augustana alumnus Doug Lim ’95, is fundraising for a scholarship to honor the memory of Augustana graduate and community leader Javier Perez ‘97. Javier, a strong supporter of many civic and philanthropic causes in the Quad Cities including the Rock Island Human Rights Commission, St. Joseph the Worker House and the board of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, passed away in August 2017.

In recognition of his gifts to this community, a Javier Perez Endowed Scholarship is being set up to benefit Augustana students who are either the first-generation college students, bi-lingual, Latinx, or a member of his beloved fraternity, Delta Omega Nu.  Mr. Lim has generously provided a 1:1 match for gifts until $8,000 in donations is reached.

If you make a gift online to www.augustana.edu/javierperezmemorial or mail a gift to Augustana College, Development Office, 639-38th St, Rock Island, IL 61201, your gift will be doubled until Mr. Lim’s match has been achieved.

Please note “Javier Perez Scholarship” when you make a gift. The next generation of caring civic leaders will thank you for helping them achieve the dream of a college education.
