The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce garners national recognition as winner of the 2018 Small Chamber of the Year Award

Quad Cities, IA/IL The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) celebrated three Hispanic chambers from across the nation for their accomplishments, contributions and commitment to raising the profile of Hispanic-owned business and helping them compete through resources, education and awareness.  This year the outstanding chambers were The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, La Villita Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis.

The recipients were honored during the USHCC's Annual National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the country's largest gathering of Hispanic business leaders and entrepreneurs.
 
“We are very proud to recognize the tremendous effort and contributions that our chambers make around this country”, said USHCC Interim President and CEO Fernand Fernandez. “Because of these chambers’ commitment to their communities, small businesses everywhere benefit from access to capital, information, and networks in order to thrive and expand their businesses.”
 
The Small Hispanic Chamber of the Year Award was presented to the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which was started in 2008 to support and promote new business opportunities for Hispanic-owned business in the Quad Cities and surrounding areas in Illinois and Iowa.  Today, the chamber has over 180 members and offers programs like a multicultural speaker series, networking mixers, business awards and the Empowering Latina Leadership Alliance.
 
"This is a great honor to all the people who are involved with the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the members, the board, all the volunteers who have helped us throughout these ten years," said Zenaida Landeros, Executive Director of the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, "this is testimony to the significant impact of the Hispanic Chamber and its important role in the Quad Cities region."

 
All the applicants from across the nation were judged based on their leadership, accomplishments, and service to the small business community.  Those selected have consistently shown outstanding service to not only their own local business members, but also the community they serve.
