2017 Federal Legislative Update

Legislative experts from Illinois Association of County Board Members and National Association of Counties (NACo) will discuss recent and potential future changes in legislation at the state levels and federal levels that will have a direct impact on Illinois local governments this coming year.  With a Q&A session following each presentation, participating officials will have opportunities to discuss impact and intent to develop a better understanding of mandated expectations.

FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE UPDATE - PART 2 (presenter bio)

Jack Peterson staffs NACo’s Finance, Pensions and Intergovernmental Affairs Policy Steering Committee. Previously, he staffed both NACo’s Human Services and Education Policy Steering Committee and NACo’s Veterans and Military Services Committee. He also served as a Legislative Assistant at NACo and supported NACo’s association management services for the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers and the National Association of Pretrial Services Agencies.
Prior to joining NACo, Jack was a government relations associate for Urban Swirski & Associates and worked in multiple offices on Capitol Hill. Jack holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Davidson College, just north of Charlotte, N.C.
