2017 Iowa Latina/o Education Initiative Conference

This year's conference theme is Student Success and Completion with the conference featured speaker Dr. Margarita Benitez. Three community college presidents will serve as a respondent panel to the keynote address. A student panel will discuss the support structures and barriers to a successful transfer transition from the community college to a college or university. Afternoon breakout sessions and poster displays will highlight 'best practices' in promoting student success and degree completion. Dr. Mark Grey, a University of Northern Iowa anthropology professor, will close the conference discussing Iowa's changing demographics and the implications for education.
