Central Midwest Higher Education Recruitment Consortium
The Central Midwest Higher Education Recruitment Consortium invites you to attend its 2018 Annual Conference to highlight “Best Practices for Recruiting & Retaining a Diverse Workforce.”
The event is designed to bring together employers from the higher education, business, public and non-profit employment sectors to share best practices for recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce.
Representatives from regional employers, including colleges and universities, sharing their best practice strategies for recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce including: strategies for diversity recruitment/retention in rural/Midwest communities; using HERC to advance regional economic development; partnerships across HR and academic affairs to enhance diversity initiatives; dual-career strategies that benefit organizations and communities. The Central Midwest HERC Advisory Board will convene after the conference.
Schedule:
- 8:30-9:30 a.m. Introduction to the Central Midwest Higher Educationa Recruitment Consortium (HERC). A pre-conference session for new and prospective members to learn more about the benefits of HERC membership (registration begins at 8:00 a.m.).
- 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Best Practices for Recruiting & Retaining a Diverse Workforce. Main conference will feature multiple speakers sharing best practice strategies and a networking lunch (registration begins at 9:30 a.m.).
About the Central Midwest Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC):
Founded in September 2016, the Central Midwest HERC is the regional chapter of a national non-profit network of higher education and community employers dedicated to advancing the ability of member institutions to recruit and retain a diverse and talented workforce and to assist dual-career couples through sharing of best practices and campus/community partnerships. The Central Midwest HERC was originally founded by a collaboration between the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and the University of Northern Iowa and currently represents 21 employers in Iowa, eastern Nebraska, and western Illinois.
