Early on Saturday morning, I was proud to pass the American Rescue Plan - the latest COVID-19 relief bill - to deliver urgent relief to Illinois families. One critical piece of this package is support for our small businesses and additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The House passage of this much-needed package comes after President Biden created a special application window for PPP funding to help the smallest of our small businesses. That’s why I will host a small business webinar this Thursday, March 4th at 9:00 AM CST to help answer questions about the assistance available for small businesses, including those with up to only 20 employees, that have been impacted by the pandemic.
 

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and we must continue to support them. While I have been proud to help pass legislation to provide support for our workers, families, and small businesses, that is half the battle.

Now, we need to make sure that our small businesses can access the assistance and pandemic relief available to them. I look forward to connecting directly with small businesses in need and encourage anyone with questions about the Paycheck Protection Program to join me on Thursday.
