Christmas at Deere-Wiman House
Celebrate the holidays this December with Christmas at Deere-Wiman House!
For three days, the 1872 home of Charles Deere, son of John Deere, will be decked out in Victorian splendor for the holiday season:
December 3 – 2:30p until 7:00p
December 4 – 2:30p until 7:00p
December 5 – noon until 3:30p.
Admittance is based on free timed-entry tickets that allow you to enter the house during the half hour for which you registered and stay as long as you like to explore the first and second floors.
Simply select a date and an entry time. Print out your registration confirmation and present it at the door.
Along the way, you’ll discover special artifacts that might even have been Christmas gifts among Deere family members who lived there from the late 1800s until 1976. For example, you will see a 1930 Lionel child’s toy oven and range and an 1890s perfume bottle.
Our tradition has been to provide families an opportunity to create several holiday ornaments on-site. This year because of public health concerns due to COVID, visitors will receive a special gift bag of materials and instructions to take home to make an ornament to commemorate their visit.
All children attending can visit the Deere-Wiman Carriage House to select a book from Butterworth Center & Deere-Wiman House.
