Community Healing: Breaking the Domestic Violence Chain
SAL Community Services, Davenport Public Library, and Scott Community College have partnered to host "Community Healing: Breaking the Domestic Violence Chain" conference on Friday, October 20 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
The conference will educate community members about the prevalence of abuse, encourage people to take action to promote social change, and alert survivors to the options and resources that are available to them. The conference will offer an inclusive platform focusing on education and support, specifically designed to meet the unique needs of minority survivors of domestic violence. Attendees can enhance their skills, gain fresh insights, and stay updated with current trends and best practices in the field.
PLEASE NOTE: Attendees will earn four Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) for nurses and social workers.
For professionals, the conference aims to deepen their understanding of effectively supporting minority survivors of domestic violence. It will provide them with valuable tools and strategies to improve their practice and positively impact their work.
Furthermore, the conference will serve as a networking hub for organizations, professionals, activists, and like-minded individuals dedicated to addressing domestic violence. It offers a valuable opportunity to connect, share ideas, and form collaborations and partnerships. By fostering these connections, the collective efforts to combat domestic violence can be strengthened, leading to greater impact and change.
Finally, participating in the conference will enable individuals to build a robust support network.
