Hispanic Chamber hosts Small Business Roundtable event with Jo Eckert, Branch Manager, U.S. Small Business Administration. This event will primarily focus on small businesses, the struggles they face and how the SBA can help. Have a seat at the table and voice your concerns.
About Jo Eckert:
Jo Eckert is the Branch Manager for the Cedar Rapids Branch Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The SBA was tasked by the President to administer the COVID 19 federal relief programs; and Jo and her coworkers have worked tirelessly implementing them these past 2 years. Jo previously worked in Economic Development for the City of West Des Moines and operated the West Des Moines Business Incubator from 2010 to 2017. Jo is known for developing strong mentoring systems that have been shown to improve success rates of small businesses. In addition to forming and utilizing skill development programs, she has facilitated networking opportunities for professionals throughout Central Iowa.
Jo was the recipient of the Technology Association of Iowa’s Women of Innovation Award in the Government and Nonprofit category in 2013; she has been a session presenter at state-wide conferences, mentor for the Iowa Pappajohn Venture School program and has served on numerous committees regarding small business throughout the State of Iowa. Jo is a graduate of Upper Iowa University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, and a Drake University graduate of the Iowa Certified Public Management Program.
