Multicultural Speaker Series Featuring Russ Curry
The Hispanic Chamber will offer the next Multicultural Speaker Series as a webinar designed to help members navigate the fast developing changes and employer obligations related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our speaker series aims to provide an opportunity for individuals and organizations to engage diverse residents and employees from multiple sectors in the Quad Cities region, broaden their networks, and enhance their awareness of diversity issues. In addition to an overview of the topics below the webinar will also discuss the potential inherent language and cultural barriers:
- First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) and employer obligations
- Navigation the new unemployment requirements for employers including the Voluntary Shared Work program
- Paid leave
- Employee communications
- CDC and Risk Assessment guidelines – working with employee exposure and positive testing employees
- Managing remote employees
- Planning layoffs
- Wage and payroll changes
Since the multicultural speaker series is typically hosted durning a breakfast or luncheon and we’d like to support our business community, our typical admission fee will apply. However, $10 of the fee collected will be given back to you as a gift card/voucher to a member business restaurant of your choice. You can choose your option during registration.
**Preregistration and a zoom profile required.
