The Arc Celebrates MLK Jr. Day of Service Thursday 1.20.22 with Mobile Food Pantry
Rock Island, IL – The Arc of the Quad Cities in conjunction with the River Bend Food Bank will host a Mobile Food Pantry for individuals and families who seek food assistance at NO CHARGE. The Arc was proud to be selected by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency that leads the Martin Luther King Jr., Day of Service to execute projects that unite Americans in service for the MLK Day of Service - to host a day of service delivering food assistance to our community. Food distribution will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in Rock Island.
How:
Indoor event. Must be masked upon entry. Assistance to your vehicle will be available. This event is open to anyone in need of assistance.
What:
Food distribution begins at 10:00 a.m.
Distribution will be in the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.
Why:
Day of Service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy.
Martin Luther King Jr. asked a question, “What are you doing for others?” The Arc has answered that call with a mobile food pantry to help address food insecurity. This project is one of many food related events in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy that will take place in 2022.
MLK Day of Service activities is provided by the Corporation for National & Community Service, The Arc of the Quad Cities Area, the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center and the River Bend Food Bank.
