4-H Program Coordinator - Milan, IL

Help youth build their citizenship, leadership, and life skills as a 4-H Program Coordinator for Rock Island County in Milan, IL. Work with the 4-H educator to plan activities, clubs, special events, county 4-H fair shows, and other local and state 4-H programs. Provide leadership as primary contact to volunteers, 4-H members, and their families. Attend meetings, trainings, and state-wide conferences. Help to recruit, screen, and select 4-H volunteers. Provide leadership to carry out the 4-H shows including meeting and planning committees, recruiting and orientating show superintendents, public relations tasks, become familiar with the 4-H shows exhibit guidelines, implement livestock weigh-ins, and general overall management. Maintain membership and administrative records, and other duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Four years (48 months) of responsible volunteer or professional work experience in coordinating educational and/or community programs or activities.
  • College coursework in any field of study, with the equivalence of:
    • Two years (24 months) for 60 semester hours.
    • Three years (36 months) for 90 semester hours.
    • Four years (48 months) or more for 120 semester hours or higher.

This is a full-time position 37.5 hours per week with University of Illinois, in our Milan, IL office. The expected start date is as soon as possible. Salary is $22 hour plus benefits.
