The Human Resource (HR) Generalist I will create, develop, implement, and conduct training and development programs for employees. Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this position also is responsible for providing effective HR services in the following areas: recruitment and selection, onboarding, employee training and development, and employee relations.
The HR Generalist I will assist with administrative duties and providing administrative support within the HR department as needed. They will serve as a culture advocate positively promoting and maintaining the EICC’s culture in accordance with our core values.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities |
- Assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and employees.
- Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees.
- Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
- Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
- Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
- Assesses training materials prepared by vendors and/or presenters.
- Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
- Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
- Maintain personnel files related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and terminating including appropriate forms such as credentials, transcripts, evaluations, professional growth and other information documents.
- Responsible for managing and tracking 90 day, Staff, Administration, & Faculty reviews.
- Review and explain human resources policies and procedures to EICC employees as needed.
- Interpreting union contracts.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Assumes responsibility for up-to-date information on the computer personnel files.
- Assist in the coordination of the staffing and recruitment process.
- Is committed to providing quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers.
- Responsible for maintaining expert knowledge of EICC policies, practices and procedures.
- Serves as the back-up to others within the department as required by supervisor.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
