We’re looking for a Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator who is passionate about volunteer engagement and community impact. This role blends program coordination, volunteer support and community outreach to help elevate our mission and expand our reach.
 
Position Overview
 
The Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in managing volunteer-facing communications, supporting client programs and amplifying our mission through community outreach. This position works closely with staff, volunteers and community partners to ensure programs run smoothly and our message reaches the people who need it most, while also serving as the on-site point person to manage daily operations as advised by the executive director.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Program & Volunteer Support
●      Recruit, on-board and assist with retaining volunteers.
●      Support volunteer engagement efforts including communication, scheduling assistance and on-site support.
●      Learn and champion the mission, culture and values of Dress for Success Quad Cities in the community.
●      Assist with coordination and promotion of programs such as educational programming, Fill-a-Bag Friday, and special events (some evening hours required).
●      Assist executive director with building and supporting relationships with referral partners.
●      Represent the organization at community events, career fairs, and similar events.
●      Enter and maintain accurate client and program data in a timely manner in Salesforce.
●      Collaborate with staff to identify volunteer needs
●      Resolve conflicts and address volunteer concerns
●      Assist with event-day logistics, volunteer coordination, and post-event follow-up. 
●      Assist with storytelling that highlights client success, volunteer impact, and community partnership. 
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
 
●      High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred
●      Mission-driven with a collaborative, service-oriented mindset
●      Strong organizational and multitasking skills
●      Ability to manage diverse groups of people
●      Ability to multi-task and adapt in a growing nonprofit environment
●      Professional, welcoming demeanor with clients, volunteers and community partners
●      Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
●      Familiarity with design and marketing tool such as: Canva, Salesforce, Adobe, Creative Cloud, WordPress, and Google Analytics preferred
●      Familiarity with social platforms such as: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
●      Experience in customer service, workforce development, retail, social work or nonprofit settings is highly desirable
●      Volunteer coordination experience is a plus
●      Ability to use social media and email marketing platforms and metrics is a plus
●      Willingness to learn and assist where needed is a must
 
Physical requirements
 
●      Frequent use of computers, phones and office equipment
●      Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive hand movements
●      Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs of inventory, supplies, and event materials
●      Occasional bending, reaching, and standing during events and boutique activities
