RESPONSIBILITIES: The Cybersecurity Intelligence Officer (CSIO) is assigned to the Statewide Terrorism & Intelligence Center (STIC). The position coordinates cybersecurity identification and prevention activities with homeland security partners (law enforcement, emergency services, school safety, and the private sector) with the STIC and federal government partners. This position monitors intelligence and provides summaries to STIC leadership, provides situational awareness to STIC and Illinois State Police command, and partners with other cyber professionals, intelligence analysts, and public safety personnel. The position also serves as the STIC subject matter expert and point of contact for cyber related issues, additionally, they will work with other cyber professionals to detect and analyze malware samples from other state, local, and federal government agencies, as well as private sector partners. They identify and analyzes trends, patterns, and emerging risks and threats. Job duties also includes preparing and disseminating cyber related intelligence reports at all classification levels and designations, providing key stakeholders in the public and private sectors with cyber intelligence that furthers their critical understanding of the cyber threat environment, coordinating with public and private sector partners to develop and providing cyber threat briefings, as requested.

APPOINTMENT: As soon as possible

MONTHLY WAGE: $7,084- $7,792 (Anticipated starting salary of $7,084)

*This is a restricted position whose continuation beyond June 30, 2027 is contingent upon the renewal of funding support, which is reviewed annually.*

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree.
- One year prior experience in the cybersecurity community is required.
- Experience in report writing, analyzing malicious internet traffic, and intelligence analysis is desired.
