Nursing Visiting Faculty

The St. Ambrose University Department of Nursing in Davenport, IA invites qualified applicants to apply for a visiting faculty position. Candidates will be joining a well-established department focused on implementing the approved curriculum based on the mission and philosophy of the Department of Nursing and St Ambrose University.

Visiting faculty are professionals with the education and skills to prepare the next generation of nurses. They provide opportunities for students to acquire knowledge and practice skills identified in course objectives within classroom, laboratory and clinical settings; using appropriate and innovative teaching methods across a variety of modalities - including online and face to face teaching. All nursing faculty at St Ambrose University participate in the program's evaluation and continuous improvement processes.

Candidates are required to have a minimum of an earned Master's degree in Nursing, with a Doctoral degree preferred. Candidates must be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Iowa. Additional state licensure may be required. Candidates must have five or more years of nursing experience that spans more than one setting. Some travel may be required. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and scholarship with experience in online teaching will enhance the candidate's application.

The Department of Nursing is one of seven health science departments within the College of Health and Human Services.
